iPOP Alum Chris Brochu’s latest film Recon will be released on Veterans Day, after Brainstorm Media acquired U.S Distribution rights to the feature. This is Brochu’s latest film and which will be timed to the autumn holiday after being picked up by the distributor last month.

Recon is a WWII military drama based on true events, that premiered at the 2019 Austin Film Festival as Peace. The film follows the suicide mission of four soldiers as they work to survive the unseen threat of a sniper that follows their journey through the Italian mountains in the last days of the war. Brochu stars as one of the four soldiers and is joined by an all-star cast that includes Alexander Ludwig (Vikings, Bad Boys for Life), Franco Nero (Django, John Wick 2) and Sam Keeley.

The film is based on the novel by Richard Bausch and is directed and written by Robert Port. Enderby Entertainment, who produced the feature aimed to “celebrate our nations heroes, remembering their incredible sacrifice through telling their story on screen.”

Bleiberg Entertainment, who introduced the film to EFM buyers called Recon “an American story with the power to resonate with audiences worldwide”.

It was after attending iPOP, that alumni Chris Brochu began his career. Brochu has continued to succeed in the industry with notable roles in The Vampire Diaries, Baja and Shameless. Aside from Recon, audiences can also look for Brochu in the role of Crispin Bowers on ABC’s The Rookie.

DWS Star Joins iPOP Alum Matt Cornett on High School Musical Series

The show was created and executive produced by Tim Federle and serves as the first series adaption of the popular film, franchise. Caitlin Carmichael, iPOP Alumni, Cast in new Thriller

Midnight in the Switchgrass is a new feature directed by veteran film producer Randall Emmett for his directorial debut. The cast is star-studded and includes iPOP Alum Caitlin Carmichael along with Megan Fox, Brice Willis, Emile Hirsch, and Colson Baker (aka Machine Gun Kelly). Caitlin will helm the role of Tracy Lee in the upcoming feature. The film also stars Sistine Stallone, Michael Beach, and Welker White.

The serial killer thriller was first announced to Deadline in January of this year. After producing over 110 films including the Oscar-nominated The Irishman, Emmett is all in on the $15 million films. He is also currently in post on the Michael Polish helmed WWII drama Axis Sally starring Al Pacino as well as the Mel Gibson.

The film follows a local Florida detective and FBI agent as they team up to find the man responsible for a string of murders. Currently, the feature is under production with Puerto Rico set as the film location. Midnight in the Switchgrass was adapted from a screenplay by Alan Horsnail. Furla and EFF’s Tim Sullivan and Alex Eckert are producing with Luillo Ruiz. Regarding his directorial debut, Randall Emmett had this to say:

Stargirl starring iPOP Alum Karan Brar debuts this week

Los Angeles-Long Beach, CA (1888PressRelease) March 12, 2020 – The latest Disney + exclusive feature, Stargirl is set to release this week, in which iPOP alum Karan Brar stars alongside Grace VanderWaal. The film is an epic coming-of-age movie based off of the New York Times best-seller YA novel of the same name. The film will be released at midnight on Friday, March 13 to the streaming platform.

The film is led by America’s Got Talent Winner Grace VanderWaal, as the ukulele-playing, offbeat new girl to an Arizona high school who calls herself “Stargirl.” Karan is set to play Kevin, the best friend of titular character Leo (Graham Verchere).

The Jerry Spinelli novel was adapted to screenplay by Kristin Hahn and directed by Julia Hart. The book has a Jonathan Livingston Seagull philosophy of non-conformity and following your own path and style. Spinelli describes the premise of the novel as: “Leo Borlock follows the unspoken rule at Mica Area High School: Don’t stand out—under any circumstances! Then Stargirl arrives at Mica High and everything changes—for Leo and for the entire school. After 15 years of homeschooling, Stargirl bursts into tenth grade in an explosion of color and a clatter of ukulele music, enchanting the Mica student body.
